Course Goals  	1. Demonstrate understanding of how teachers can anticipate and avoid student behavioral and instructional problems. 
2. Identify and explain the components of effective classroom and instructional management. 
3. Identify and explain the components of the educator's role in classroom management. 
4. Identify, describe, explain, and compare models for managing the classroom environment and student behavior with and without consequences. 5. Explain and compare strategies for resolving behavior problems. 
6. Demonstrate knowledge of the possible basis for behavioral problems and how to deal with them. 
7. Demonstrate understanding of the relationship between teacher and student behaviors. 
8. Demonstrate understanding of motivation and motivational strategies 
9. Demonstrate ability to systematically examine problem behaviors and determine solutions.

Course Requirements
Introduction:
In this course you will be required to collect 10 articles from research journals, post summaries from the articles and critique on others' articles posted on the bulletin board, respond to content modules, and write a major paper.  
Requirements:
Research Paper (30 points) 
Topics: Any of the models or other topics related to the content (Must be approved by the Instructor). 
Substance: Content, Mechanics, and Writing Style Format: Double Spaced; APA Style; Submission via EMAIL as an attachment Recommended Word Processor: Wordperfect or Microsoft Word 95 
Paper Length: 7-9 pages plus the Bibliography 

Bulletin Board articles (4 points each) Quantity and Quality (More emphasis on quality) 

Bulletin board responses to content modules (20 points) 

100-90 = A 
89-80 = B 
79-70 = C 
69-60 = D 
59-0 = F
